Help with abbreviations?

A lot of these aren't abbreviations in that sense, they're only short forms of words (prof for professor, ump for umpire, typo for "typographical error," quad for quadrangle, pop for popular, pro for professional, sub for submarine, rad for radical, and zoo for "zoological garden"). Morph, frank, pants, taxi, tie, van and wig are just short words -- I don't know that they have longer words they stand for. Phono- is a prefix.
