What happens if you miss a base on a home run trot?

Just watching replays of Pujols' walk-offs against the Cubs and noticed the Ump making sure he saw his feet hit home plate. It occurred to me that I don't think I've ever known what would happen should a player miss home plate or any base after hitting a home run.
