How to install a built in webcam?

I own a compaq 15" laptop that has a bulit in webcam, and I cannot figure out how to install it. I've gone to control panel, looked for new updates, checked my devices, read everything that came with the computer, and searched online for answers. My laptop also includes Windows 7, if that has anything to do with this. Please, Please, Please help me:) If you could, list the steps if things I need to do. Thanks for your help!
