How to get new abilities in Infamous 2?

I use a really poor tv to play Infamous 2 on and the graphics are blurry. I can barely make out words, but it's impossible to read the "how to unlock" section of my powers menu. Basically, I'm running around guessing how to unlock new abilities. If someone could provide me with how to unlock at least SOME of these abilities, that would be very appreciated. Currently I'm lost on how to achieve sticky grenades.
