Can anyone help me with a problem on my Fiat Punto ELX Petrol gauge please?

hi if the fuel needle on the clocks does not move when you put fuel in the car try to jerk the car it could be the fuel pump flout stuck E.G. Set of fast then when driving stop very fast and when driving try to go left then right quick to shake the flout in the tank i had the same problem and i did that and the flout came loose and now its fine
