Why wont the switches to the window work when reinstalling Jetta interior door panels?

Its a 2003 jetta 1.8t and i recently took off the headliner to be replaced and also the door panels to be reupholstered and now when reinstalling none of the switches windows locks etc. wont work everything is hooked up right and nothing is working what could it be?
